The need

Financial literacy shouldn’t be something you figure out the hard way.

53% of Canadians struggle to keep up with their financial commitments.
1 in 3 Canadians borrow money to cover regular expenses.
48% of Canadians don't have emergency savings.

Financial literacy is about more than knowing how money works. It can help people make better financial decisions, prepare for the unexpected and build greater financial resilience. More financially resilient Canadians can help build a more financially resilient Canada.

The series

A growing financial literacy library.

How It Adds Up turns complicated financial subjects into short, engaging videos designed to make financial concepts easier to understand and apply.

32 lessons already exist, covering the money people use every day, the bigger financial decisions they face, and ways to plan for the future.

WHAT THE SERIES COVERS
Reach and engagement

Distribution is already built in.

How It Adds Up is distributed across Canada through McIntyre Media, with a focus on post-secondary institutions and public libraries.

McIntyre supports discovery through its customer network, weekly newsletters, flyers, catalogues and direct customer conversations. Content is correlated to curriculum in each province to help educators discover relevant resources.

The content exists. The distribution is in place. Now the library can grow.
